The position

We are seeking a talented financial controller to join our growing accounting team. You will be part of building scalable accounting processes to support our global growth. You will be performing monthly close activities including preparation of reporting packages of our subsidiaries, VAT returns, reconciliation of inventories and supporting our FP&A team. You will be working closely with all members in the accounting team and also be part of process improvements and automation and provide advice on accounting implications.

The position is based in Gelato’s office in Oslo, London or Madrid.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting the group consolidation reviewing reporting package of holding companies and subsidiaries (Germany, Canada, Pakistan and Singapore);;

• Controlling our inventories in Europe and USA;

• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns;

• Assisting the FP&A team with cash flow and balance sheet forecast and analysis;

• Assisting the setup of new legal entities and tax registrations; and

• Being a master user of our accounting applications and becoming highly involved in our processes for improvement of routine tasks within the accounting team.

Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, communicating and escalating relevant issues to the Finance team, leading initiatives for process improvement within the finance department.

Moreover, we would like to see evidence of the following in your profile:

• A degree in finance or accounting;

• 3-5 years professional international experience within accounting / finance function ideally in a large international industrial group or accounting/audit firm;

• Demonstrated problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills;

• Experience with regulations and guidelines for IFRS;

• Solid experience working with large volume transactions with strong attention to details;

• Excellent project management and organization skills;

• Fluent in English; and

• Advanced Excel user: able to handle very large raw data sets using pivots and other functions such as VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables.
