The position

We are seeking a talented Global Payroll Manager to join our growing finance team. You will be part of building scalable payroll processes globally and ensure compliance with local regulations and laws together with our external payroll service providers. You will be responsible and oversee the organizations payroll function, support the organizations with payroll-related queries and ensure payroll are processed on time and accurately. You will work closely with the HR team and accounting team.

The position is based in Gelato’s Head Quarter in Oslo (Norway), Madrid (Spain), or London (UK).

What you’ll be doing

• Working closely with external payroll providers around the world to ensure payroll are processed on time, accurately and compliant with local regulations and laws.

• Preparation and review of monthly payroll for all legal entities in Gelato Group.

• Preparation and review of monthly payroll taxes for all legal entities in Gelato Group.

• Support employees with payroll-related queries.

• Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises and other benefits).

• Book-keeping and reconciliation of payroll and payroll-taxes for legal entities where Gelato does accounting in-house.

• Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams.

• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing systems and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, communicating and escalating relevant issues to the finance team, HR team and leadership team, leading initiatives for process improvement within Gelato.

• A degree in finance, HR or accounting.

• 3-6 years of progressive payroll and accounting experience.

• Experience with social security and payroll taxes.

• Proven track of involvement in automation of payroll processes.

• Experience with European payroll systems.

• Self-motivated and proactive -ability to work in a fast paced environment.

• Strong attention to details.

• Excellent written communication skills.
