We are looking for top-performing Category Managers to create, manage and sustain an exceptional customer experience and deliver the best-in-class performance for one of our fastest-growing product categories across all our markets. This person will act as the CEO of the product category, owning the P&L and being empowered to lead end-to-end decision making: creating the vision, articulating the strategy, developing the plan, working with Product Managers and development teams on delivery (web and mobile app), measuring and being ultimately accountable for the commercial performance of the category.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will work alongside Product Managers, marketing channel owners and business leaders around a compelling future vision for your product category. Once the vision is aligned (and refined), you will define the plan to deliver on the vision: ambitious iterative product and sales development, reflecting a thoughtful prioritization of effort. You will work alongside different teams on a day-to-day basis, making decisions, answering questions, tracking competitors and closely managing the performance of your product category to ensure it meets performance and commercial targets.
You will define success criteria for everything that is developed and built for your product category. You will obsess over the data and always be working to gain more insight to drive better outcomes.
Products are at the core of what we do at Gelato. Therefore, this is a highly visible role that requires working closely with product managers and product teams, development teams and Network operational teams with the following responsibilities:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing customer base for your product category, leveraging web and mobile app analytics, customer research and other existing data sources.
Benchmark competitive offerings and obtain insights from how best-in-class players around the world approach challenges for their product category – what we at Gelato call ‘growing the apple tree’.
Define a compelling future vision for your product category and own the plan to deliver on the vision: ambitious iterative product and sales development, reflecting a thoughtful prioritization of effort.
Own the P&L of the product category. You would negotiate and agree challenging customer and revenue targets, and then be responsible for driving and innovating the category experience to achieve those commercial goals.
Work alongside Product Managers, channel owners, development teams and business leaders on a day-to-day basis, making decisions, answering questions, tracking competitors and closely managing the performance of your product category to ensure they meet targets.
Define success criteria for your product category, and build the insights required to measure it effectively. Obsess over the data and always be working to gain more insight to drive better outcomes.

We would like to see evidence of the following in your profile:
5+ years of experience in a Category Management, Product Management, Business Development or other business role, preferably in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering (MBA from a global leading institution is a plus).
Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product category throughout its lifecycle.
Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.
Data driven with excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify, tailor, and present complex topics to a variety of audiences.
