Job Description:
As the Director of Sales at Gelato, you will drive Gelato’s growth engine by building relationships with prospective clients and turning them into happy Gelato users. You will grow a team and manage the full sales cycle from sourcing and qualifying inbound & outbound leads through to negotiating, closing, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. You are an adept salesperson, capable of engaging in business-level and technical conversations at any level of the organization, including Founder/CEO.
You have experience leading an SDR/BDR team, and working with small and medium sized ecommerce businesses. You have an understanding of the user journey and can lead short, single stakeholder deals as well as longer multi-party sales in a highly consultative manner. You are used to building value in competitive situations and enjoy working on products that require deep product understanding, combined with technical knowledge. Finally, you’ll develop scalable strategies and repeatable processes that enable us to accelerate future growth of Gelato. This is an important role with high visibility to the Gelato leadership team and Board of Directors.
What you will do
Own the full sales cycle from lead to close
Lead outbound lead generation strategy from our XDR team
Manage a pipeline of active deals to drive user activation
Engage with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to help amplify our growth trajectory.
Support identifying and qualifying high-potential prospective users from outbound and inbound leads.
Lead and contribute to team projects to develop and refine our sales process, with direct visibility from the Gelato Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

You are truly passionate about helping customers solve their problems and grow their businesses. You have incredible stamina, resilience, and grit. You feel comfortable getting your hands dirty while never losing sight of the long-term strategies and ambition.
Moreover, we would like to see evidence of the following in your profile:
5+ years of sales experience, 2+ as an Account Executive, and 2+ managing a sales development team, preferably at a software company, with a track record of top performance.
Experience creating or participating in sales pitches and proposal document creation.
Technical aptitude to understand the Gelato API and integrations such as Shopify, Etsy, Order Desk, etc.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to operate and prioritize in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
Experience with lead generation and CRM tools.
Nice to have:
Experience / understanding of the creator economy and POD.
